Avatar Web Promotions has dedicated Web hosting servers located in New Zealand. Our objective is to provide as close as possible to 100% server uptime and network availability while still maintaining a service that is affordable for all clients.
Infrastructure
High availability has been architected into the infrastructure as follows:
- Enterprise class servers with mirrored SCSI disk subsystems
- UPS power supply
- Diesel Generator backup power
- Dual Cisco Routers and firewalls
- Managed 3Com switched network - 1.0Gb/second backbone
- Direct connection to TelstraClear's dual redundant fibre network
- Redundant Multi-homing via Telecom network
- Automated Server Monitoring and restart scripts
The investment made in the above infrastructure ensures that where ever possible single points of failure have been removed, and redundant hardware, power supplies and networks exist to ensure that the impact of hardware failures result in either zero or minimal downtime.
Data Replication and Protection
All customer data is replicated and backed up daily within the Avatar Web Promotions environment. The following steps have been taken to ensure data replication and protection:
- Data replicated on the server's mirrored disks
- Data backed up daily to 'near side' disk subsystem
- Data backed up weekly to magnetic tape and taken off site

This package suits the requirements of most of our clients:

- NZ $50+gst one-off setup
- Web hosting using your domain name (domain registration costs not included)
- 20 MB of disk space
- Site statistics
- Flat rate traffic (up to 6 Gigabytes per month included, which would not be exceeded by most Web sites)
2. Secure Hosting
This option has all the features of the standard package with extra disk space, and also includes an SSL directory allowing you to securely receive credit card payments.

- Web hosting using your domain name (domain registration costs not included)

Password protection ensures security so only you and your staff can alter your site's content.
